Ms. Marie Shea has over 30 years of education, contract property and contracting experience having served as an educator, Property Administrator, Contract Operations Supervisor, Senior Functional Advisor and Director, Technical Directorate of the Defense Contract Management Agency.
Ms. Shea has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Regis College, Weston, MA and a Master of Arts from Bridgewater State College, Bridgewater, MA. She is a Member of Defense Acquisition Corps; Level III Certified in Contract Property Management. She is a Member of the National Property Management Association (NPMA) and frequent workshop presenter at National Education Seminars, Region Seminars and Chapter meetings. She has served as the Eastern Region Editor of the NPMA’s, “The Property Professional” and as a member of the Board of Advisors. She is the author of numerous articles on all aspects of Contract Property Management for the Quarterly DCMA Property Management Newsletter. Author of numerous articles published in the NPMA “The Property Professional” magazine.
She has served as:
A Member of Department of Defense Team to rewrite Federal Acquisition Regulation, (FAR) Part 45, Government Property Management, Chaired by the Director of Defense Procurement, Pentagon. These regulations govern all DOD and Civilian Agencies and are incorporated into all Government contracts.
A Member of the DoD Working Group to revise Defense Acquisition University (DAU) contracting courses and Federal Executive Institute (FEI) standards for accuracy of contract property policy.
An Adjunct Instructor of Contract Property Management Courses at the Air Force Institute of Technology, WPAFB, Ohio -1994.
Ms. Shea has also been the recipient of numerous awards including:
- National Property Management Association: Federal Property Manager of the Year
- Meritorious Civilian Service Award (Second Highest Department of Defense Award for Civilians)
- Superior Civilian Service Award (Third Highest Department of Defense Award for civilians)
- Plymouth County Education Award -Teacher of the Year Award -1984
